Free Images for Online Writers
Fresh and modern images for download.
Finding the right images for your articles is essential for success in the online world. Good images draw people in to your article. Different images draw different crowds of onlookers. Images swirl through thousands of pinterest members everyday. A good image can mean thousands of hits on your site.
We are new to the world of online writing, but we have learned quickly how frustrated we can become when we can't find the right image to finish our article. We attempt to use all our own images, but finding the time to take the pictures is often hard to squeeze in on a busy day.
When is the best time to take pictures? Pictures taken in broad daylight with natural lighting are almost always going to make the best pictures. Our days are often filled to the brim with activities, and getting pictures taken while the sun is still shining through the windows is often hard.
As we find time and inspiration, we are stocking up on images to use for future articles. Feel free to download any of these images following the links at the bottom of the page! Hopefully you can find some relevant to your topics of expertise.

Are you writing an article about meal planning? Are you posting your most recent dinner creation? Scroll down to the bottom of the page to find a Flickr link to download this image of a stack of blue plates.
Free image of a bowl.
Free image of a yellow tea cup.
When I see tea cups and coffee mugs, I think about deep, thoughtful, and insightful conversations between two good friends. Are you writing an article deep with emotion? Are you sharing as if you are sitting across the table from your best friend?

Free image of a mug.
Looking at images of coffee mugs makes me think about deep conversations I've had before with close friends.
Are you an observant introvert like myself? Do you ever want to publish that article on your mind about 'what you wish all extroverts knew about introverts?' Or, 'what most introverts find important in friendships.' What about 'how to know if you're talking with a sensitive introvert?'
Maybe you're a bit like me and you're not sure how well your article will be received. Let me know if you try it, and maybe you'll give me the courage to write more about my introverted nature.

Free image of a strawberry basket.
Are you writing an article on the health benefits of fresh fruits and vegetables? Maybe you're writing about the dirty dozen or the top ten most healthy fruits. Have you recently done some research on strawberries or maybe you are growing them in your garden for the first time this year.

Free image of edamame.
Have you ever grown fresh edamame in your garden? If you haven't, I would highly recommend it. Blanched with a bit of salt, these soybeans make an excellent snack.
Free image of an egg carton.
Maybe you are writing an article on the importance of protein in every person's diet. Or, are you raising chickens for the first time? Please tell me if you are or if you would like to. I would be tickled if there was a fellow 'I wish we had chickens' person out there.
Free image of wood toy blocks.
Are you writing an article about children? What about a post explaining the different disciplining techniques that worked for your family? (I would be very interested to read that one!) Or, maybe you have recently done a study on sleep habits and how a child's diet affects their sleep.

Free image of office pens.
I see lots of articles floating around these days about office etiquette. What should you wear to an interview? What should you say and not say in front of your co-workers? What does HR know but won't tell you? There is plenty of blank space on this image of pens to insert a great article title.
Free image of colored pencils.
Free image of a TV remote.
I have to kind of chuckle at the above image of the TV remote. I was brainstorming with my husband. I asked him for suggestions of photos to take. What photos would be useful for others writing articles online? His very first suggestion was a TV remote. I NEVER would have thought to take a picture of a TV remote, but hopefully this image will be useful for someone.

Free image of a pink pearl necklace.
A pink pearl necklace. This is such a beautiful picture of femininity to me. This was my very favorite picture from the day, and while I suppose this one is not useful for many online writers, I thought I would share it anyway. Hopefully someone else can enjoy it too.

Learning about photography
This post was a fun one for me. I am learning about photography. I have learned a few tips along the way, but I have a long ways to go. This hub was a great excuse to take lots of pictures. I learned a lot about my camera this week. I am just beginning to really get comfortable with it and learn some of its endless capabilities. I am learning to try to capture the beauty in the small things of life.
Hopefully you can find something here of use to you.
And all you real photographers out there...if you have some tips or constructive criticisms to offer me, please do! I want to learn.
